Exam Code of Conduct
The Exam Code of Conduct outlines the rules, responsibilities, and disciplinary provisions applicable to students appearing for examinations. Students are expected to maintain honesty, discipline, and decorum throughout the examination process.
Important Instructions for Students
All students must carefully read and follow the examination rules issued by the University and the College. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to disciplinary action as per examination regulations.
General Instructions
- Students must carry a valid Hall Ticket or Admit Card and College Identity Card.
- Students should report to the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the examination begins.
- Late entry may not be permitted after the prescribed reporting time.
- Students must occupy only the seat allotted to them.
Permitted & Prohibited Items
- Only stationery required for writing the examination is permitted.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, books, notes, and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.
- Calculators are allowed only if specifically permitted.
- Possession of unauthorized material will be treated as use of unfair means.
Conduct During Examination
- Students must maintain silence and discipline in the examination hall.
- Communication with other candidates in any form is strictly prohibited.
- Students must not exchange answer sheets, stationery, or any material without permission.
- Answers should be written clearly only in the answer booklet provided.
Attendance & Submission
- Students must sign the attendance sheet wherever required.
- Answer books must be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.
- No student shall leave the hall during the first 30 minutes of the examination.
Unfair Means & Malpractice
- Copying from unauthorized material or another candidate is strictly prohibited.
- Impersonation, possession of chits, or electronic communication is considered malpractice.
- Any attempt to influence examination staff shall attract disciplinary action.
- Unfair means cases will be handled as per University Ordinances and examination regulations.
Disciplinary Action
- Students found guilty of malpractice may face cancellation of examination results.
- Severe cases may lead to suspension or debarment from future examinations.
- Misbehavior with invigilators or examination authorities will be treated as serious misconduct.
Responsibility of Students
Students are responsible for reading and understanding all examination instructions issued by the University and their respective colleges. Ignorance of examination rules shall not be accepted as an excuse for misconduct.

The University reserves the right to amend or modify examination rules and disciplinary procedures from time to time. Students are advised to comply with official circulars and notifications issued by the University of Mumbai.
